Elijah Perry is a strategic leader with expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), education policy, and organizational transformation. As an Academic Performance Manager at the DC Public Charter School Board, Elijah worked directly with school leaders to analyze performance metrics, develop school improvement plans, and support charter renewal processes. His deep understanding of charter school accountability and governance enables him to craft strategic solutions that enhance student achievement and operational effectiveness.

 

Previously, Elijah served as Executive Director at GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic, where he led a financial turnaround, transforming a $1.7 million deficit into a $475,000 surplus while expanding workforce development programs for underrepresented communities. His leadership resulted in the creation of the NextGen Training Academy, which equipped hundreds of individuals from marginalized backgrounds with industry-recognized skills.

Elijah has also led fundraising and development initiatives, securing over $30 million in philanthropic funding to advance DEI initiatives and school transformation programs. His combined experience in education policy, school performance management, and equity-focused program development positions him as a key contributor to the BetterEd team.
